Students’ rights and duties

Teachers, students and parents have rights and responsibilities regarding the teaching and learning process. But what are they?

The student has the right:

1. To select an educational institution, public or private;

2. To attend the public educational institution that is in the area determined by the respective basic unit of local government;

3. To be provided by the institution with a quality educational service, according to its interests, needs and possibilities, as well as special assistance to face its special learning difficulties;

4. To be informed about his / her rights and obligations, the regulation of the educational institution, the curriculum that the institution offers, the forms of assessment, the national exams, as well as to be informed in writing about the intermediate and final results of the education of tij;

5. To express views on issues of his education, to complain about the attitudes towards him and to have the attention of the employees of the educational institution for these views and complaints;

6. To be elected to the school board after the age of sixteen;

7. To transfer from one school to another school of the same educational level.


The student has the task:

1. To respect the rights of other students and employees of the institution, recognized by law;

2. Learn regularly;

3. To attend regularly and participate in other activities of the institution;

4. To respect the rules of the institution for the protection of health, safety and environment and to demand their observance by other students and educational staff;

5. Respect the regulation of the institution.
